In a jolt to its electoral prospects just before end of its tenure, PDM govt had to hike Diesel price up by Rs 19.95 with new price at Rs 273.40 and Petrol price up by Rs 19.90 going up to Rs 272.95.
Finance Minister Dar said that this decision had been taken in best national interest as Pakistan is under IMF program and it has to honour its commitment with the international financial institution.
Sources privy to late night development in finance ministry tell news360 that Dar tried his best to not raise price of petroleum products but he had to succumb to external pressure.
