Govt makes Rs18 reduction in petrol price after nearly Rs100 hike

Petroleum products have been reduced by more than Rs40 and the price of petrol has been reduced by Rs18.50 per liter.

According to the notification issued by the Finance Ministry, the new price of petrol has been fixed at Rs230.24 per liter. The price of diesel has been reduced by Rs40.54 per liter and the new price of diesel has been fixed at Rs 236 per liter.
Kerosene has been reduced by Rs33.81 per liter and its new price has been fixed at Rs196.45 per liter. Light diesel has been reduced by Rs34.71 per liter and light diesel by Rs191.44 per liter.

According to the notification, sales tax on petroleum products will remain zero. The government has maintained a petroleum levy of Rs10 per liter on petrol and Rs5.5 per liter on high speed diesel, kerosene oil and light diesel.

The people have appreciated the decision of the federal government but they want real relief only if there is a reduction in inflation.
