Kia Lucky Motors is allegedly involved in fake marketing of its product after the launch of MG Motors in Pakistan.

A business journalist Ali Khizar shared on his Twitter that KIA has so far sold some 21,000 units of its Sportage SUV in Pakistan.

He listed it down as some 2,000 units were sold in 2019 while the sales soared in 2020 and some 11,000 units of KIA Sportage were sold.

Ali Khizar shared that the company has sold around some 8,000 units of the vehicle during the current year while the revenues earned from it in the past 3 years have crossed Rs 100 billion.

However, another Twitter user shared a story published in The Express Tribune back in March about the motor company selling 25,000 units of KIA Sportage.

As both data unmatched, the car enthusiasts assumed that KIA was involved in the fake advertisement for its product as it was afraid by MG Motors, which is a hot cake in the market.

MG HS, a compact SUV, has arrived in the Pakistani market and it is giving KIA Sportage a hard time.

Sportage is dominating the category in the local market since its launch but MG HS has emerged as a tough competitor in the category for the South Korean manufacturer.

The social media users said KIA is afraid of the popularity of MG HS in Pakistan and asserted to be the reason behind fake marketing of its product.
