OGRA Arranges Certification of Drivers of LPG Bowsers in Collaboration with NLC
The training has been arranged in collaboration with the National Logistic Cell (NLC) at Applied Technologies Institute, NLC Headquarters Corporate Office, Rawalpindi consisting of 1-2 weeks of training focusing on pressurized gases/dangerous petroleum products.
Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has arranged a certification course “Heavy vehicle preventive driving course” for drivers of LPG Bowsers for safe transportation of LPG is highly inflammable and can cause ignition and fatal accidents.
The training has been arranged in collaboration with the National Logistic Cell (NLC) at Applied Technologies Institute, NLC Headquarters Corporate Office, Rawalpindi consisting of 1-2 weeks of training focusing on pressurized gases/dangerous petroleum products.

OGRA has recently issued licenses allowing the transportation of LPG through road bowsers and advised all the LPG producers/Terminal Operators/LPG marketing companies to ensure that the browsers/containers hired/owned for transportation of LPG are in compliance with the standards, specifications, safety codes (ASME Code, Section VIII(Div-I) of LPG Rules, 2001/NFPA-58 for safe handling.
In order to avoid accidents, all the LPG bowser drivers should undergo a “Heavy vehicle defensive/preventive training course” within 6 months. All the nominal expenses of the training course shall be negotiated by the company and NLC and the first batch of successful candidates will be recognized by OGRA as trained drivers.
OGRA has sought the cooperation of all stakeholders to ensure safety as the first priority to make oil and gas sector risk-free in terms of the losses of precious lives as well as other losses to industry and materials during operational activities.
