A recent research study says that the trend of online shopping during the lockdown in Pakistan, ranging from food, clothes to electronic items, saw a boom as the local markets and malls are closed in the country.
The statistics show that 71% of the shoppers find purchasing products or services online easy, while 66% find it convenient and 54% of them agree that online shopping websites or apps resolve confusion through personalized product recommendations.
Two years ago, the world unbiddenly welcomed the covid-19 pandemic that changed millions of lives in a blink’s eye. As many were left unemployed, the rest explored new ventures to earn bread and butter.
The inconsistent trend of restrictions twisted people’s lifestyle and instead of preferring to visit shops, they are comfortable with online mediums, boosting entrepreneurship in the country.

Interestingly, online ordering doesn’t limit itself to food, instead, clothes, electronics, and household items, shoes. Even monthly groceries and cosmetics are all delivered at the doorstep through online websites that are attracting customers through discount offers.
Adapting to the change, many renowned brands have revised their online shopping guidelines and platforms like Daraz and others are coming up with effective marketing strategies to ease the experience of their customers.

Comparing with previous records, the online shopping experience has overall improved with limited complaints registered on monthly basis.
The citizens also believe that if their required items are available at reasonable rates on online websites, then there’s no need to go to the markets physically.
Notably, there are currently more than 2,000 online portals available in Pakistan from where millions of people buy and sell goods.
