The Information Technology (IT) sector showed immense growth and the exports crossed $2 billion mark in the fiscal year 2020-2021 for the first time.
The Adviser to Prime Minister on Commerce Razak Dawood shared the glad tidings with the nation through his Twitter.
Our IT exporters have done it!! I want to congratulate our IT exporters for crossing the $2 billion export mark for the first time in our history. During FY 2021, IT export grew by 47.4% to USD 2.12 billion as compared to USD 1.44 billion in FY 2020.

He said the IT exports grew by 47.4% to $2.12 billion in the preceding fiscal year and they were $1.44 billion in 2019-2020.

The adviser commended the IT professionals and entrepreneurs for doing a remarkable job and said the government has incentivized and facilitated the sector for growth.
Pakistan recorded an increase of 20.75% in IT exports in 2019-2020 and they crossed the figure of $1.11 billion. In the fiscal year preceding it, the remittances collected from IT exports were $917 million.
