The government has revised the prices of petrol and liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) and increased it by Rs 4 per liter Rs 2,403.5 per cylinder respectively, making it difficult for the citizens to fight inflation and its effect on everything.
According to the finance division notification, the price of petrol has been jacked up due to an increase in petroleum prices in the international market.
With the increase of Rs 4, petrol will now sell at Rs 127.30 per liter while high-speed diesel with an increase of Rs 2 will sell at Rs 122.04 per liter.
The price of an LPG cylinder has also surged by Rs 29.10 per kilogram (kg), making its purchase difficult for people with nominal incomes.
According to a notification, LPG price per kg has been increased from Rs 174.58 to Rs 203.69.
Although LPG is considered as the “poor man’s fuel” and is also used in the majority of areas where gas is not available, it will hit household budgets now.
