Toyota Bringing $100m to Pakistan For Hybrid Cars

The premier appreciated the announcement and maintained that Japan has always remained a committed partner for Pakistan

Pakistan has been receiving glad tidings on its economic front and in a similar instance, Japanese motor company Toyota announced to invest over $100 million in the local production of hybrid cars.

During a meeting with Prime Minister Imran Khan, the delegation of Toyota Indus Motor Company revealed that company will invest in the production of hybrid electric cars in Pakistan.

The meeting was attended by Indus Motor Company Vice-Chairman Shinji Yanagi, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Ali Asghar Jamali, Finance Minister Shaukat Tareen, Industries and Production Minister Makhdoom Khusro Bakhtiar, Energy Minister Muhammad Hammad Azhar.

“Indus Motor Company is a wonderful example of how global companies can grow successfully here in Pakistan”, he added.

Imran Khan said that the government would extend all possible assistance for the production of quality vehicles at reasonable prices.

On the other hand, Toyota Asia CEO Yoichi Miyazaki valued Pakistan’s policies for environmental protection.

Indus Motor CEO Ali Asghar Jamali said that hybrids are a practical and sustainable solution for achieving mass electrification.
