Traders Unite Against New Tax Rules of FBR
A convention was organized by All Pakistan Anjuman-e-Tajaran that was attended by the business community from all across the country
The traders of Pakistan have announced to stage a protest against the promulgation of Tax Laws (Third Amendment) Ordinance 2021 on September 29 in Islamabad.
A convention was organized by All Pakistan Anjuman-e-Tajaran (the representative body of traders) that was attended by the business community from across the country.
All Pakistan Anjuman-e-Tajaran President Taj Abbasi said that it is a very difficult time for the traders and they will have to protest against the tax ordinance in Islamabad.
“We reject the presidential ordinance and if traders are not allowed to do business then this government would not survive”, he asserted.

While addressing the meeting, All Pakistan Restaurant Association President Muhammad Farooq Khan said that eateries have remained closed for 18 months.
“The ordinance is the economic murder of the businessmen and we will continue to strive for our businesses”, he added.
President of All Pakistan Anjuman-e-Tajiran Punjab Shahid Ghafoor Paracha said that they would besiege the FBR office on September 29, claiming that the traders from across the country are allied for the cause.
Shadi Halls Association President Rana Raes expressed that the wedding halls are in immense loss due to covid-19 restrictions and supported the call for protest.
Jamil Ahmad Paracha, Senior Vice President of All Pakistan Anjuman-e-Tajiran and Chairman Sindh Traders Union, addressed the convention as well.
He said that the traders are already in distress due to lockdown amid pandemic and FBR is demanding 5-year-tax-record from them.
“How much bribe FBR has taken in the last 5 years?”, he questioned.
