The seven-member South Korean K-pop boys band BTS that stands for Beyond the Scene has touched the sky with its popularity in 2020. The year had been of considerable importance for the band with the release of their new albums.
BTS debuted in 2013 and has been the first K-pop boys band to top the United States album charts.
K-pop is a mainstream Korean popular music that originated from South Korea around the 1990s. It includes rock, hip hop, and electronic music.
The fame BTS is enjoying has been earned by the hard work of years. Since BTS’s debut seven years ago, the band has been slowly climbing the stairs of success and popularity.
They remained the top-grossing touring group of 2019, and broke Billboard’s Social 50 chart record, and have also garnered a number of positions on the Billboard 200 albums chart and the Hot 100 singles chart.
The group’s debut track was “No More Dream” which was a hip-hop track that calls out young people without dreams. After their debut, the group carved their popularity slowly in Korea and across the globe.
The seven members of BTS include RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V, and Jungkook.
RM:
Born as Nam-Joon in 1994 serves as BTS’s leader, producer, and songwriter. He debuted with the stage name Rap Monster (RM).
Jin:
Born as Kim Seok-Jin in 1992, Jin is the oldest member of the group. He is one of the group’s four primary vocalists and has been famous for his good looks and singing skills across the world.
Suga:
Born as Min-Yoon-gi in 1993, Suga joined the group as a rapper. He also serves as the producer and songwriter for BTS.
J-Hope:
Born as Ho-Seok, J-Hope is famous as the top dancer and rapper in BTS. His dance skills are famous around the world making him the choreographer for the group members.
Jimin:
Jimin was born as Park-JI-min and is one of the main vocalists and dancers in the group. He is the best-known member of the group even for those who are not familiar with BTS.
V:
V was born as Kim Tae-Hyung who is an actor and a dancer. He made his acting debut in 2016 in a Korean drama “Hwarand: The Poet Warrior Youth”.
JungKook:
Jungkook was born as Jeon Jung-Kook and is BTS’ maknae (a Korean term that signifies the youngest in a group of people). He is a multi-talented person and the group’s main vocalist.
BTS has been spreading the message of self-love through its hits.
