Renowned Drama writer and actor Professor Shoaib Hashmi has passed away after 14 years of illness. Shoaib Hashmi suffered a brain hemorrhage and was ill for a long time.

Drama writer and professor Shoaib Hashmi suffered a stroke 14 years ago after which he was unable to walk and talk due to which he was bedridden for 14 years.

Shoaib Hashmi wrote and acted in popular plays in the 70s. Shoaib Hashmi’s popular dramas include ‘Afkar Baka’, ‘Sachgap’, ‘Taal Matol’ and ‘Balila’.

In 1990, Shoaib Hashmi used to write a column in a private newspaper called All Mutwal. Shoaib Hashmi received the Best Performance Award in 1995 and was also honored of his performance.

Adeel Hashmi, son of Shoaib Hashmi, said that his father’s health deteriorated and he was transferred to the hospital where he died. The funeral prayer will be announced after his daughter’s return from London.
