Attending Emmy Awards in Los Angeles, American actress Gillian Anderson came into the spotlight after a reporter questioned her about former British Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher but surprisingly none of them were aware of her demise.
Gillian played the role of Britain’s first female leader in season 4 of the Netflix hit series The Crown that depicts the lives of Britain’s royal family throughout history.
Not only Gillian’s character was admired by viewers and critics, but she also bagged an award for brilliantly performing as a supporting actress in the widely watched show.
Following the awards ceremony, a reporter asked an unexpected question from Anderson at a news conference that made it to headlines right away.

Inquiring about Margaret Thatcher, the reporter asked, “Have you talked to her about this role at all?”, forcing her to spill out some controversy.
With a straight face, Anderson replied “Um, I have not spoken to Margaret”.
