Adnan Siddiqui, Nawaz Sharif, Dum Mustam, clarification

After public criticism for meeting Nawaz Sharif, the actor Adnan Siddiqui clarified that he has not joined any political party yet.

Adnan Siddiqui clarified his position in his Twitter message, saying, “I haven’t joined any political parties! SAMAA News should verify such fake and baseless news before publishing it. This is totally yellow journalism.”

A few days ago, actor Adnan Siddiqui, who recently made his production debut with Dum Mastam, is in London, rubbing shoulders with Nawaz Sharif.

On Monday, Siddiqui, who is currently visiting the UK to promote Dum Mustam, showed up at Hussain Nawaz’s office, where the ousted Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) supremo, Sharif was staying.

A video recorded outside the office shows Siddiqui interacting with Sulaiman Shehbaz. Shehbaz can be heard asking Siddiqui whether he is going for a walk in the neighbourhood.

In response, Siddiqui says he is there to meet with Sharif. Surprised, the official inquires whether Siddiqui had an appointment, to which Siddiqui replies in the affirmative. The Meray Paas Tum Ho actor is then promptly invited inside the office, Express Tribune reported.

Following this, a picture is released of him standing next to Sharif. “It was a great meeting,” Siddiqui recalls in a video message recorded after the meeting. “I came here to promote my film and have invited him [Sharif], to come watch it.”

The veteran also shares how he informed Sharif about the hard work that went into bringing Dum Mastam to life. Siddiqui says that Sharif, while acknowledging the contributions of artists like himself, told him that he has worked on policies specific to the entertainment sector.
