Bollywood actress Anushka Sharma who welcomed her first child, Vamika, with husband and cricketer Virat Kohli earlier this year has announced to sell her maternity attires for a worthy cause.
The actress is auctioning off her maternity outfits, major fashion goals for all going to be moms, to support maternal health and save 0.25 million liters of water.
Anushka said that she is hopeful to kickstart a ‘circular economy’ in the ‘fashion system’.

“This is a very simple way that each of us can live kinder lives. By sharing pieces back into the circular fashion system and shopping preloved, we have a huge positive impact on the environment”, she told a leading daily.
While discussing the idea the star informed that she planned the initiative during her pregnancy and thought that this phase in women’s lives was uniquely suited to participate in the circular economy.
The proceeds from the auctioning of her maternity dresses will benefit a foundation named SNEHA to help maternal health and save water.
