SRK-Deepika’s Pathaan song ‘Besharam Rang’ stirs controversy

Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan and actress Deepika Padukone’s much-awaited movie Pathaan’s first song ‘Besharam Rang’ was finally released on Monday, however, the music video stirred controversy.
The makers of Pathaan were teasing fans with Deepika Padukone and Shah Rukh Khan’s sizzling chemistry for the past few days.
Finally, on Monday, Pathaan’s new song Besharam Rang was released and it started trending in no time. In fact, many fans hailed Deepika Padukone and Shah Rukh Khan’s sizzling chemistry in the song Besharam Rang. However, there were a few fans who were not happy with the song with a few reasons.
A user on Twitter shared a snip from the song and highlighted that Deepika Padukone is wearing a saffron colour bikini and the song’s name is Besharam Rang. A few other fans found the song ‘obscene in nature’ and outlined how Uorfi Javed is facing a Police complaint under similar context, True Scoop reported.

Besharam Rang is the first song of Shah Rukh Khan’s upcoming thriller Pathaan.It has been sung by singer Shilpa Rao and has been composed by Music Director duo Vishal and Sheykhar. Coming to the film, it is helmed by Siddharth Anand and produced by Yash Raj Films, Pathaan also stars John Abraham in the lead. The movie is slated to hit the theatres on January 25, 2023.
Previously, the song was being called Ghungroo 2.0 and now, the audience have found another flaw in the song. The beat that plays throughout the song sounds very similar to Jain’s Makeba, Mensxp reported.
Makeba was a 2016 hit and you might have heard it on the popular Levi’s commercial. It was produced by French beatmaker Yodelice and comes from the African music subgenre known as Amapiano.
Even the title of the OG song is a reference to legendary South African vocalist and activist Miriam Makeba, who was associated with Jazz and Afropop genre of music.
Many people have called out the Pathaan song on social media and have accused it of copying the French song.
The song has already gotten more than 22 million views on YouTube and has been considered a hit.
Pathaan is going to release next year on 25 January and fans are all pumped up for the movie as it will mark the return of Shah Rukh Khan after 5 years on the big screen as a lead hero.
