A death hoax is a deliberate report of someone’s death that later proves to be fake. Celebrities’ death hoax is a common occurrence on social media.
However, social media cannot be held solely responsible for these death rumors.
In past also we have many examples where people in a deliberate attempt tried to kill celebrities.

Chacha Cricket
Chacha Cricket is widely recognized for attending almost all Pakistani cricket matches in his distinct style – a green kurta-pyjama and green hat.
The famous cheerleader came out to end the controversy regarding his death by sharing a video message on Twitter.
“Death is a reality, it will come and no one will save from it,” he said in the video.
He promised to continue waving Pakistan’s flag in stadiums till he is alive.

The news of the (fake) death of Pakistani comedian Umer Sharif began circulated over social media.
Sharif’s son Jawad Umer had clarified that his father was still alive and well.
Amitabh Bachchan
Old pictures of Bachchan Sahab’s hospital visit started circulated on social media with his fake death news.
His fans became furious over the fake news and started tweeting to express their love for the actor.
Alamgir
Popular Pakistani singer Alamgir, also became a victim, when news about his death started making rounds on social media.
Veteran TV star Bushra Ansari shared her conversation with the singer to counter the fake news that he is alive and well.
Rowan Atkinson
Rowan Atkinson (Mr. Bean) was also announced dead many times over the years.
It was once circulated that Atkinson had committed suicide due to severe depression.

She was contacted by the journalist several times for an interview.
