Chupke Chupke & Taana Baana Fail to Grip Viewers

This year, two Ramazan serials on Hum television titled Chupke Chupke and Taana Baana have failed to keep up to viewers’ expectations like a special romantic comedy series Suno Chanda.

Both Chupke Chupke and Taana Baana are fast-paced series with a plethora of ever-appearing new characters who bring a never-ending twist to the story.

Osman Khalid Butt and Ayeza Khan are the main leads of the drama Chupke Chupke along with Arsalan Asad Butt, Farhan Ally Agha, Mira Sethi, Ali Safina, and many more as co-stars.

Moreover, Alizeh Shah and Danyal Zafar are the main leads of the drama Taana Baana.

Talking about the characters, Ayeza khan is playing the role of Meenu, who is a bubbly, spontaneous girl and the purpose of her life is to avoid studies.

But a couple of times, Ayeza has been shown holding school books while sometimes as a student who has graduated, which means that ambiguity exists to a high degree.

Moreover, living in a joint family, Zoya of Taana Baana is an ambitious girl who wants to pursue her master’s degree.

Just like widely-lauded Ramazan serial Suno Chanda featuring Iqra Aziz and Farhan Saeed, people were expecting to see similar sour chemistry between the leads, plot and dialogues in the two ongoing projects.

Many viewers are unhappy with the delivery of the content and criticized the long cast and misty storyline.

Whereas, some viewers seem completely overwhelmed by the characters and the plot and labeled it as giving ‘Sunno Chanda vibes’.

Moreover, the founder of Soul Sisters Pakistan Kanwal Ahmed also raised concerns over how the male lead is depicted in the drama serial Chupke Chupke.

She said, “The way ghar damaads (live-in sons-in-law) have been portrayed in the dramas are disempowering audiences by reinforcing problematic stereotypes”.
