Did Neelo Have One Identity: Mother of Shaan Shahid?

With prominent celebrities showing solicitude for Pakistan’s most celebrated film actor Shaan Shahid for the loss of his mother and a great actress of her time, Neelo Begum, have somehow ignored the fact that the deceased was not only one of the famous actresses but she was also the wife of the legendry filmmaker and writer Riaz Shahid.

Veteran Pakistani film actress Neelo born Cynthia Alexander Fernandes died on January 30 at the age of 81.

Since the news appeared, social media has been deluged with condolences from several prominent figures and celebrities in Pakistan.

Apparently, the people in general and those belonging to the showbiz industry in Pakistan have forgotten that the actress was famous not only for her movies but was also the widow of the veteran filmmaker Riaz Shahid.

The couple rose to eminence for the love bond they shared and Neelo, despite being from a different religious background, converted to Islam and both got married.

Riaz Shahid had been one of the finest filmmakers the Pakistani film industry has produced.

The movies produced and written by Shahid includes Zarqa, Susral, Yeh Aman, and the Nigar Award-winner Khamosh Raho, have made history with their brilliant cinematographies and scripts.
