More showbiz celebrities have taken a stand against actor Feroze Khan who is facing domestic violence allegations by his ex-wife Aliza Sultan.

Pakistan fashion designer Maheen Khan announced to return Lux Style Awards after Feroze Khan’s nomination and subsequent win. She took to Instagram to criticised LSA for showing support to an ‘alleged abuser’.

She wrote, “In a world where one in three women worldwide experience physical or sexual assault, where rape and domestic abuse remains unaddressed, it is imperative that those who have a voice must use it. Physical abuse against women and girls is a human rights violation. Today it is someone’s daughter, tomorrow it might be yours.”

“While so many of us have raised our voices against the deaths of Zainab, Noor and others, the disregard and insensitivity of a recent award show is a travesty. In all conscience, I can no longer associate myself with an event that disregards their plight.”

“I will be returning my Lux style awards in solidarity with those who continue to suffer the infringement of their basic human right to live free from violence. It is a sad day as I had such hopes for the Lux Style Award show to be not just a champion of style but a platform that nurtured justice for women and stood out as a proud beacon of hope for every child and woman who has been violated.”

Mariyam Nafees clarified on Instagram, “I refuse to let my activism be called into questioned, because: Did you see me interview any abuser or harasser? Did you see me in the same frame as them? Did you see me cheer for them?”

“I did not and do not endorse any of the things I’m being accused of. My stance does not and will not change. I was there to do my job!”

“I have always gone above and beyond to raise my voice against abuse and harassment. You will always – ALWAYS find me standing by the victims,” she concluded.

Actress Iqra Aziz Hussain, who retracted a project with Feroze Khan after the domestic abuse evidence submitted by his ex-wife Aliza Sultan came to the fore, appeared in a TV show in which she clarified that she was not comfortable working with Khan so she decided to say No.

She said that people are living in an era in which they have full authority to choose what to do and what not.

When questioned if she would accept a project with Khan after the court declares him innocent, Iqra Aziz said that it would depend on that time.
