‘Double face notanki’: Atif Aslam’s post on Palestine draws rage from Indian fans

While the siege of Gaza in response to Hamas attacks on Israel continues, every opinion on the issue can turn into a battleground online.

The same happened with Pakistani singer Atif Aslam, whose post about Palestine invited intense replies from Indian followers.

“Mourning the loss of innocent lives in Palestine,” Aslam posted on his Instagram post with 7.5 million followers.

“Let’s stand together and pray for healing, peace and hope,” the singer wrote.

However, his Indian followers were having none of it.

One Indian user said that it was time to unfollow Aslam.

Another user asked him to post about the Israelis killed by Hamas instead of playing a ‘double face notanki’.

A user also asked whether Atif had not posted about Israeli deaths, just before they were jews.

And of course, there was one fan who wanted to bring in the recent Pakistan-Indian cricket match, saying the cricket team was also in need of Atif’s prayers.

However, one user said that while Atif Aslam had talent, he was just a typical muslim.

“It was a great decision to send you back to Pakistan,” he wrote.

Over 2,000 people have been killed in Gaza by israeli airstrikes after Hamas killed over 1,000 in Israel on October 7.
