As per a tweet shared by journalist Mazhar Abbas, Umer’s demise was particularly due to the delay in his treatment.
#umerSharif what lesson can we learn from this tragic incident particularly the delay in his treatment. I proposed that the federal government should constitute a fund upto rupess five billion and a board to look into such cases and for speedy process.

Notably, the stage-star fell severely ill few months ago and was under treatment in Pakistan but as his illness worsened, Umer Sharif requested the prime minister to arrange his travel to the US for further treatment.
Umer Sharif’s family made it crystal clear that they were not in need of financial aid, they requested the authorities to made arrangements for an air ambulance and other procedures required to travel.
Earlier in September, a picture went viral on social media that showed Umer in a severely ill condition. However, the family assured the nation that he was doing fine.
A few days later, in the second week of September, a video was shared by anchorperson Wasim Badami that showed Umer requesting Prime Minister Imran Khan to make arrangements for his treatment abroad.
His request was accepted by the authorities in no time and the Special Assistant to Prime Minister Shahbaz Gill took to his Twitter handle and announced that the PM office is in touch with Umer Sharif’s family on the directives of Imran Khan.
However, the arrangements took unusually extra time and the comedian waited nearly 2 weeks for the air ambulance to carry him for the urgently-required treatment.
Furthermore, the ambulance waited a few days after landing in Pakistan as Umer’s condition was not stable for traveling.
This whole procedure took an objectionably long time and the air ambulance had to take an emergency landing in Germany where the star breathed his last.
Umer Sharif left the nation in immense grief and puzzled that what took the government so long to arrange for his travel for the urgent treatment.
