Jamal Khashoggi’s fiancee urges Justin Bieber to cancel Saudi performance
Hatice Cengiz says singer's cancellation will send powerful message about a regime that kills its critics.
Hatice Cengiz, the fiancée of slain Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi has asked singer Justin Bieber to cancel his performance scheduled for December 5 in Saudi city of Jeddah.
She urged the Canadian singer not to perform for the murderers of slain Saudi journalist Jamal Khashoggi.
In an open letter that published in Washington Post, Hatice Cengiz urged the pop star to cancel his concert. She asked the singer that the cancellation of the performance will send a strong message to the world that Justin Biaber’s talent and name will not be used to improve reputation of a government which kills critics.

Hatice Cengiz wrote: “Do not sing for the murderers of my beloved Jamal. Please speak out and condemn his killer, Mohammed bin Salman. Your voice will be heard by millions.”
A group of artists including Justin Bieber will perform next month in Saudi Arabia as the kingdom hosts the Formula One Saudi Arabian Grand Prix.
