She targeted drama serial Dunk and hinted towards the story that revolves around men falsely accused by the women in Pakistan

Pakistani dramas have been the focus of society for long for their controversial topics and notable personalities have been commenting on the sensitive issues Pakistani dramas are portraying. Recently, Pakistani politician Kashmala Tariq made a statement against the controversial drama serial “Dunk” and got backfired by ARY.

Kashmala Tariq, Federal Ombudsperson for Protection against Harassment of Women at the Workplaces, has tweeted in support of women and claims that no woman will make false complaints about being harassed risking her honor and dignity.

Kashmala targeted drama serial Dunk in her statement and hinted towards the story portrayed in it.

“Sexual harassment is still a topic in our society that is not considered appropriate to discuss”, she maintained.

A production by Big Bang Entertainment, drama serial Dunk, has been in the public eye for many reasons since it is on-aired on ARY Digital.

The drama is said to have a misogynistic portrayal of events and incidents in Pakistan.

Dunk’s story revolves around men falsely accused by the women in Pakistan and depicts them as victims.

Meanwhile, Mahwash Ajaz, a Dubai-based journalist, has brilliantly summed up the situation in Pakistan.

She maintained that artists in Pakistan are easy targets for mafias.

Mahwash claimed that right-wing usually blames popular actresses like Mahira and others for their bold choices when it comes to their wardrobes and photoshoots.

However, the left-wing labeled the artists for promoting misogyny and male dominance in society. She kept up her comment by mentioning the names of Fahad Mustafa and Ali Zafar.

She claimed that actor and producer Fahad Mustafa was criticized by the left-wingers as an advocate of misogyny in Pakistan and Ali Zafar for fighting his case against Misha Shafi.

The female ombudsman has issued notices to stop airing the controversial drama on ARY till further orders and asked Chairman PEMRA, Head of the channel, and Producer Fahad Mustafa to appear in person and present their case.

She claimed that it is the core responsibility of PEMRA (Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority) to keep an eye on the content of dramas being on-aired.

Kashmala Tariq has always been vocal about harassment cases in Pakistan.

Earlier, she claimed that sending “good morning” messages to women at the workplace also lies under the banner of harassment.
