Last month, the official trailer of the Pakistani horror-comedy, “Lafangey,” was released to the public at the Karachi Arts Council and the cast and the director expressed confidence that the upcoming flick will offer something new to the public.
The story revolves around four young men who have big dreams and goals, but are clueless how to achieve them.

He told Arab News he was confident Lafangey was good enough to outcompete the other two movies, London Nahi Jaunga and Quaid-e-Azam Zindabad, also scheduled for release over Eid. “But I think we have been able to deliver what we promised,” Mani added.
“I think it is less risky to explore something new than go after traditional genres like everyone is doing,” Tariq Habib Rind, who produced the film, added. “This is going to be groundbreaking.”
Writer and director Abdul Khaaliq Khan said Lafangey was inspired from a Bengali play. “There hasn’t been a horror-comedy in Pakistan before,” he said. “We have given our best and are hopeful it will work.”
Veteran actor Behroze Sabzwari, who has returned to the silver screen after several years, described Lafangey as a “technically sound film.” “We shot it in just 22 days,” he said. “I am 100 per cent sure it will resonate with audiences.”

The movie was banned by the censor board earlier in the week, declaring it unfit for the Pakistani audience. It was reported that Lafangey had been “banned” by the censor boards for its “objectionable content, vulgar and double meaning language.”
The cast includes Sami Khan, Mani, Mubeen Gabool, Saleem Miraj and Nazesh Jahangir in the lead roles.
However, an official confirmation of Lafangey’s clearance is due to be made by the censor board.
After the clearance, the Pakistani audience will be getting three new movies this Eidul Adha including Lafangey, London Nahi Jaunga and Quaid-e-Azam Zindabad.
