For decades, several love stories surfaced and stayed in the hearts of people for ages, however, two love tales from the film industries of India and Pakistan of the beloved celebrity couples, Sunil Dutt and Nargis from Bollywood and of Riaz Shahid and Neelo from Lollywood Pakistan have been eternal.
The love story of Sunil and Nargis had been the talk of the town for many years since the actor met Nargis on the set of “Do Bigha Zameen” for the first time.
Sunil, who belonged to a Punjabi family, fell in love with the beautiful actress belonging from an entirely different religious background.
Though, the actress at that time was an established star while Sunil was an aspiring actor trying to pave his path in the industry.
During that time, the rumors of Nargis and actor Raj Kapoor’s love affair had been floating in the B-Town.
With Raj Kapoor getting married to someone else, luck knocked on the door for Dutt and during the shooting of “Mother India”, the couple came closer.
Despite different religious backgrounds, the couple announced their wedding and surprised Bollywood.
Years later, Nargis was diagnosed with cancer and underwent treatment for many years. Under all crucial circumstances, Dutt had been beside her to support her.
However, the actress succumbed to the disease just a few days before the premiere of their son and now renowned actor Sanjay Dutt.
Similar to the love story of the Bollywood couple, Lollywood stars Riaz Shahid and his actress wife Neelo’s love tale made waves in the film industry of Pakistan.
The sensational actress of her time Neelo met the filmmaker and writer Riaz Shahid on the set of his movie “Mr. Allah Ditta”.
Amid their love story, there was a time when the sparkling-eyed actress proved her love and devotion for Shahid.
Neelo, being famous for her dance, was summoned to dance in front of the Shah of Iran.
The film actress refused and took sleeping pills on the stage just before the performance.
Later, the actress Neelo born Cynthia Alexander Fernandes converted to Islam and changed her name to Abida.
The couple got married in 1969 and they had three children including the famous Pakistani actor Shaan Shahid.
After the demise of her husband, Neelo supported her family by pursuing the career as an actress and producer.
