Maheen Khan Celebrates 76th Birthday & 50 Years as Designer
She started her career in 1972 and became Pakistan's first fashion designer who redefined the way women dress
Today, leading Pakistani fashion designer Maheen Khan is celebrating her 76th birthday besides beginning an incredible journey of 50 years in the industry.
Eminent as Fashion Pakistan Week (FPW) chairperson, Maheen Khan is termed as the “Pillar of fashion”, who has styled several key figures like Benazir Bhutto, Jemima Goldsmith, Kate Middleton, and Princess Sarvath al-Hassan among other dignified women.

On this occasion, the 76-year-old designer posted her portrait, dressed in an elegant white dress combined with pearls, clicked at her home by photographer Nadir Toosy.

Maheen Khan started her career in 1972 and since then, she became Pakistan’s first fashion designer, who redefined the way women dress.
The fashion mogul projected Pakistani fashion at several national and international platforms, where she was applauded for her work for communicating culture, trends, ideas, and colors through her designs.
Previously, designer Maheen Khan had organized many fashion shows in Pakistan and overseas and this year marks the beginning of an incredible 50 years journey in the industry along with 76th birthday.
FPW chairperson showcased her collection at the Milan Fashion Week in 2010 and was titled ‘Coco Chanel of the East’.
Khan was also awarded the Silver Shield from the Pakistani government for her efforts in the fashion industry in 2014.
Over the years, the fashion guru has been critical of Pakistani fashion sense but she has also spoken on the subject of inclusivity of plus-sized models.
