Mansha seems quite dejected by the announcement of Heera Mandi movie and maintained that Pakistan will be left with indigenous stories depicted by others

Pakistani actress Mansha Pasha has criticized Pakistani society for making judgments on “what is or is not” morally acceptable. The tweet by Mansha Pasha came in response to an announcement by India’s renowned director Sanjay Leela Bhansali for a movie on Lahore’s red-light area “Heera Mandi”.

The neighboring states are making use of the opportunities to narrate the stories that belong to Pakistan.

However, Pakistan’s own astounding projects like “Immaculate Conception” remained rotten.

Heera Mandi’s project is claimed to be the passion project for Sanjay as he has been working on it for 13 years.

However, Mansha Pasha seems quite dejected by the announcement of the Sanjay Leela movie Heera Mandi and has maintained the fact that Pakistan as a state will be left with indigenous stories depicted by others.

“In the end what will be left will be our stories told from someone else mouth. Sad”, the actress lamented.

Pakistan has been a society where judgments over a fictional narrative is an acceptable practice.

Earlier, in 1992, a movie name “Immaculate Conception” was released in Pakistan causing an uproar in the country for the sensitive topic highlighted in the script.

The movie received heavy criticism in Pakistan and Jamil Dehlavi had to live in exile for years.

However, the film gained immense popularity abroad and has won the special jury prize at the Festival of British Cinema.

Filmmakers with quirky stories are still suffering in Pakistan, a society that is intolerant towards bold and taboo topics.
