LAHORE: In its verdict in the second marriage case against Meera, the sessions court declared her the lawfully wedded wife of Atiq-ur-Rehman, declaring the marriage contract [nikahnama] authentic.
The verdict was announced by additional sessions judge Mazhar Abbas on Monday while hearing the second marriage case against the actress whose real name is Irtiza Rubab.

The Faisalabad-based businessman Atiq-ur-Rehman had accused the actress of contracting marriage with Captain Naveed in 2013 when she was already in wedlock with him.

The family court had given a ruling in his favour that led the actress to challenge the decision in the sessions’ court, claiming that Atiq-ur-Rehman drafted a fake marriage contract and she never tied the knot with him.
In the latest ruling, the sessions court rejected her appeal to nullify the family court’s verdict. The court declared the marriage contract between her and Atiq-ur-Rehman authentic.
