One of the most famous singers, renowned for #MeToo movement, Meesha Shafi once again failed to appear before the court, however, penned down a number of posts in support of Aurat March on Twitter the same day.

Besides Meesha, five of six other accused apart from actress Iffat Omar, submitted applications for exemption from personal appearance in the court.

The judicial magistrate summoned Meesha along with six suspects in a suit filed by Pakistan’s music sensation Ali Zafar.

The lawyers of absent suspects maintained that their clients were unable to appear in court due to illness while offered to produce evidence if required.

However, the legal practitioner for Ali Zafar, Barrister Ambreen Qureshi, claimed that the suspects had been using dilatory tactics.

Meesha has been engaged in a brawl with Ali Zafar since 2018 after she made allegations against Channo singer of physical harassment.
