Following the controversies of Tandav and Sacred Games Season 2, the action crime thriller “Mirzapur” also lands in serious trouble as an FIR has been lodged against the series for hurting religious and social sentiments and defaming the city of Mirzapur located in the Uttar Pradesh district of India.
The FIR has been lodged against the makers of the web series Mirzapur over the controversies on the complaint of a local journalist, Arvind Chaturvedi.
The complaint launched by Chaturvedi alleged that the crime thriller portrayed the Mirzapur community was all-in-all linked with crimes, abusive relationships, and all sorts of discords that hurt the feelings of the locals.
He further claimed that the web series also demeaned the judicial system and portrayed it as “false and polluted”.
The Indian journalist has demanded in the FIR to remove the name of Mirzapur city from the crime thriller.
As it happens, it has been trending in India to hoist contentions in regards to the subject, scenes, and characters depicted in the movies.
Earlier, movies like Padmamavati, Tandav, and Sacred Games have sparked protests in India too and the filmmakers along with the star cast had to face difficulties.

Padmavati came under criticism for an intimate scene between the Muslim King and Hindu Queen. However, the makers maintained that there was no such “intimacy” featured in the movie.
An FIR has also been lodged against the series Tandav for allegedly ridiculing and tarnishing Hindu gods.
However, the Netflix series Sacred Games embarked distress in the Sikh community in India as one of the scenes included in the series was alleged to disrespect one of the religious symbols of Sikhs “Kada” (a bangle that is considered as the blessing of Guru Sahib).
The on-going trend of relating controversies with the movies should be halted or it could lead to dispirit the brilliant filmmakers in India.
