Warrior Nadia Jamil Gets Shahkaar Award

Well-acclaimed theater and television actress Nadia Jamil has been bestowed with the first “Shahkaar Award” in a virtual ceremony launched by Ajoka Theatre and Shahkaar Higher Education Research Hub.

The Shahkaar Award has been meant for performing art practitioners who have valiantly fought against traumas and illness in the memory of veteran actor Arshad Durrani who passed away two years ago.

The names of the winners were announced by the Award Selection Committee Chairperson Justice (Rtd) Nasira Javed Iqbal in a virtual ceremony.

Nadia Jamil has been a prominent actress, anchor, and social activist, who worked for many hit projects including Damsa, Durr-e-Shehwar, Meray Paas Paas, and Dhoop Chhaon.

Jamil was diagnosed with breast cancer earlier this year and she shared the news with her fans in an emotional post on social media.

However, the actress was already a patient of vertigo and epilepsy, although not life-threatening but the diseases made it challenging for the actress to continue her profession.

Since the diagnosis of life-threatening cancer in actress, she keeps sharing her challenges and experiences in dealing with the ordeal.

Once, Jamil expressed her emotions when her hairs were chopped due to her ongoing treatment.
Nadia often shares her painful stories of the treatment with her fans.

Apart from her throbbing stories, the actress also shares her recovery and healing in her posts on social media. The actress has been very open about her illness and she has been posting encouraging messages on her social media to hike-hope in other suffering patients of society.
