“Nand” Becomes Pakistani Version of Indian Soaps

The fans seem disheartened with the extension of play as they are losing interest in the hauled story

Pakistani drama industry has seen a golden era of success with its popular dramas that received fame across the borders. However, the industry went through difficult times with the introduction of soaps in Pakistan. The drama serial “Nand” appears to have taken its inspiration from Indian soaps and many of its viewers in Pakistan are not happy with the twist in the drama.

The era of soaps serials in Pakistan was an inspiration from neighboring India. However, it got shunned by society after a few years and the industry picked back the true essence of Pakistani dramas.

“Nand” was aired on ARY Digital with the script revolving around the character of a sister-in-law and her evil deeds. The series seemingly ended with the justice served right for antagonist “Gohar”.

However, the drama serial took a new turn and introduced the character of Gohar with the same trope of plastic surgery as in Indian soaps.

Javeria Saud has taken the new face of Gohar which initially was played by Faiza Hassan.

In an interview, Faiza was questioned about the reason she has quit the series. The actress maintained that she is not in favor of prolonged dramas.

The script that was shown to the actress was ending with the death of Gohar, but due to a jump in ratings of the play, the episodes were extended, the actress added.

The fans of Nand don’t seem happy with the extension of play as they are losing interest in the hauled story.

Gone are the days of Dhoop Kinaray, Tanhaiyaan, An Kahi, Zindagi Gulzar Hai, and Kankar. Drama serial Nand is a version of Star plus dramas in Pakistan.

It seems like the production house is focusing more on the ratings rather than the quality and script of the story.
