Pakistani leading actress Sonya Hussyn doesn’t seem satisfied with the Lux Style Awards (LSA) 2021 nominations as her project Saraab wasn’t chosen in any of the categories.
This year, the Lux Style Awards 2021 has unveiled nominations in the television, music, and fashion categories for its 20th edition and the polls have just begun.
Though this time a lot of newcomers were seen ruling the nominees’ section, Sonya was on a different path, questioning the criteria of the award show.

Taking to her Instagram handle, Sonya penned down her thoughts and inquired about the double standards practiced in the entertainment industry.
According to her, a project like Saraab educated the masses with real issues, but unfortunately, such scripts aren’t given much importance.
Failing to understand the LSA criteria, Sonya Hussyn listed down the dramas that were selected in the nominations and gave a synopsis on the storyline which didn’t make sense to her.
Last year, Sonya played the lead role of Hoorain in the psychological fiction drama Saraab opposite Sami Khan as Asfandyar, which was highly applauded by the viewers.
In the script, Hoorain struggles with schizophrenia as she behaved differently with people around her, and as soon as her friend-turned-husband Asfandyar discovered her disease, he helped her in the recovery process.
Acknowledging Sonya’s acting skills and award’s double standards, actress Nausheen Shah stood in support of her.
She said Sonya Hussyn has a valid point and remarked that her fans are her strength and real award.
