Legendary Bollywood actor Nawazuddin Siddiqui expressed pleasure for having an ‘incredible experience’ while working with real-life trans women in his upcoming movie Haddi.

Nawazuddin Siddiqui wrote on Twitter, “Working with real-life trans women has been an incredible experience in Haddi. Their presence was empowering.”

He also revealed the photos of his gesture as a Trans woman staring right into the camera. Siddiqui is known as an actor who picks up challenging roles and depicts himself in the best version required for the role. According to reports, Siddiqui worked with over 90 real-life transgender women.

The actor said, “My daughter was very upset when she saw me dressed as a woman. She now knows that it’s for a role and is fine now,” He added that he has a newfound respect for female actresses. “I must say this, after this experience, I have huge respect for actresses who do this on a daily basis.”

Haddi will hit the cinemas in 2023.

On the other hand, the internationally acclaimed Pakistani movie Joyland based on the plight of transgender persons is facing controversy at home as it was banned twice.

After the Censor Board of Federal Certification (CBFC) approval, the screening of the film Joyland has now been banned by the Punjab government less than 24 hours after the ban was lifted.
