Once Again Meesha Shafi Returns ‘Gutted’ After Failing in LHC

Meesha has been engaged in a brawl with Ali Zafar since 2018 after she alleged Channo singer of physical harassment

Pakistani singer and #MeToo movement torchbearer Meesha Shafi ‘faced another setback as Lahore High Court (LHC) rejected the plea of postponing a trial against her being pursued by Paharon ki Qasam singer Ali Zafar. 

Meesha has been engaged in a brawl with Ali Zafar since 2018 after she alleged Channo singer of physical harassment.

LHC Judge Tariq Saleem Sheikh heard the plea of ​​Meesha Shafi to dismiss the case running against her in the cybercrime court. However, the singer’s plea was turned down by the court.

Shafi took the stand that Ali Zafar filed a vilification case against her in a bid to suppress sexual harassment case.

“Ali Zafar has filed a vilification case to suppress the sexual harassment case,” she said in the petition.

LHC has rejected the request by Meesha Shafi and remarked that the trial couldn’t be stopped or postponed without hearing other respondents.

Surprisingly, Meesha has been very inactive during court hearings in the harassment case which she filed against the male singer. Whereas, her fellow colleagues also don’t show much interest.

Moreover, Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) alleged that Meesha Shafi has posted false allegations of sexual harassment against Ali Zafar in April 2018, as the singer couldn’t manage to provide any evidence against such allegations.
