Unlike the normal shows in the past, this year amid pandemic the Oscars 2021 will be filmed and the show is not going to have a traditional audience due to theatrical nature of the live ceremony.
In the 2021 show happening on April 25, face masks will not be a requirement during the ceremony as the show is going to be filmed like a movie after the pandemic plagued event last year.
It will be attended by Oscar nominees, their guests, A-list presenters, and the telecast won’t have a traditional audience.

According to Variety, audience capacity will also be capped at 170 people with audience members being rotated in and out of the ceremony.

The Red Carpet will be a ‘teeny-tiny event’ and not the traditional one with the crowd and crowded press lines.
As per New York Times, amid pandemic, the safety protocols for Oscars 2021 include specially designed testing cadences to up-to-the-minute results and an on-site safety team with testing capability.
Additionally, the impact of covid-19 will be highlighted throughout the show and masks will play an important role in the theme of the ceremony.
Whereas, the producers have directed the attendees to avoid casual attires as the show is aiming for a fusion of inspirational and aspirational.
“We’re aiming for a fusion of Inspirational and Aspirational, which in actual words means formal is totally cool if you want to go there, but casual is really not”, the show producers maintained.
