In a bid to encourage talent, the federal government and Karachi Arts Council have come together for launching national awards for dramas and films.
While talking to Geo News, KAC President Ahmed Shah said that it was a joint step by the federal government and arts council.
He told national awards will be distributed in different categories of films and dramas like the rest of the world.

He added that the national awards for films and dramas should have been launched long ago as it happens in the rest of the world.
Answering a question regarding the jury, the KAC president told that the panel to choose the best film and drama would include independent people with no bias of any sort.
Ahmed Shah said that the artists receiving national awards would also take prestige as the winners’ selection would be completely impartial.
