Russia Beats Hollywood in Space Race But Differently

The Russian move has beaten the Hollywood project announced by actor Tom Cruise in collaboration with NASA and Elon Musk’s SpaceX

In a rare move, the Russian film industry surpassed Hollywood as an actor and a director blasted off to space on a landmark mission to shoot a movie in orbit.

Actor Yulia Peresild and director Klim Shipenko rocketed to space and docked at International Space Station (ISS) for the shooting.

The Russian move has beaten the Hollywood project announced by actor Tom Cruise in collaboration with NASA and Elon Musk’s SpaceX.

The actor and director blasted off with cosmonaut Anton Shkaplerov who is a veteran of 3 space missions.

The Russian crew will stay in space for 12 days to shoot a scene for the movie Challenge and will return to Earth with another Russian cosmonaut.

The lead actress while cheering the crowd before takeoff said that space is alluring for her, welcoming, and it has no boundaries.

Meanwhile, the director Spipenko said that the preparations for the move were completed in 4 months.

He added that after filming scenes in space, the rest of the movie will be shot on Earth.
