Interestingly, this isn’t the first time Atif has sung hymns to God and the last prophet. He had previously released Tajdar-e-Haram and Wohi Khuda Hai for Coke Studio.

During the pandemic, Aslam had recited Azaan in his soothing voice followed by 99 names of Allah.

After Atif’s shift to producing Islamic content, people are assuming whether he is going to tread in the footsteps of Pakistani pop icons including Junaid Jamshed, Aao Wahan Chalain singer Najam Sheraz, Purani Jeans’s Ali Haider, and Roya Re’s Shiraz Uppal.

All these singers were admired by millions of people for their soulful voices but they gradually distanced themselves from the music industry and eventually retired.

Instead, they started using their euphonious vocals to Islamic content.

However, the 38-year-old singer denied rumors of quitting music in an interview with Hamid Mir on Geo News show Capital Talk, and said, “I feel happy knowing that there are youngsters who are not just listening to my music but are also getting inclined towards these things. But I am still not quitting music”.

Aslam added, “The topic of leaving the music industry is quite personal but I want to keep myself attached to my religion while still being part of the world”.
