Babuji Rawji Shah, who is the son of Gangubai Rawji, has filed a case against Sanjay Leela for his movie Gangubai Kathiawadi.
Shah registered a complaint against the film’s lead star Alia Bhatt for alleged misrepresentation, as reported in Hindustan Times.
He also lodged a complaint against the author Hussain Zaidi, who wrote the book Mafia Queens of Mumbai, based on Gangubai Kathiawadi.
Shah feels that certain excerpts in the book are defamatory and even infringe his privacy. Hence, he has demanded that the film shooting be halted.
He also claims that ever since the movie has been in talks, he’s being harassed by the locals, and such was the case with his relatives as well.
He’s being labeled as one ‘coming from a family of prostitutes’ and facing a lot of harassment while he even fractured his leg because of violence against him.
Sanjay Leela Bhansali has faced legal court cases and criticism previously when the activists of a Rajput fringe group attacked the sets of his blockbuster movie ‘Padmavati’.
A group of miscreants forcefully stopped the shoot, vandalized Jaigarh Fort sets, and also assaulted the filmmaker alleging that he was “distorting historical facts”.
