Qavi Khan, the oldest actor of Pakistani film and drama industry, died in Canada at the age of 80.
Actor Qavi Khan was suffering from liver cancer and was undergoing treatment at a hospital in Vaughan, Canada. Qavi Khan’s funeral prayer will be offered on Monday after Zuhr prayer at Jamia Masjid in Mississauga. He will be buried at Meadowville Cemetery in Cobrampton, Canada.
Born on November 13, 1942 in Peshawar, Qavi Khan started his artistic journey as a child actor from Radio Pakistan Peshawar and appeared in countless dramas and more than 200 films on radio, stage and TV. is counted in

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has expressed his grief over the death of renowned actor Muhammad Qavi Khan. The Prime Minister prayed for the forgiveness of the deceased and patience for the bereaved family and said that Qavi Khan performed his art on film, TV, stage and radio. Loha Manoaya, Tagha Hasan performance and star Imtiaz Qavi Khan’s talents are recognized by the state.
A large number of Pakistani film and drama industry artists have expressed their deep sorrow and grief over Qavi Khan’s death and have paid tribute to him in wonderful words.
Actress Atiqa Odhu shared a picture of her on the sets of the late actor’s last drama “Meri Shahzai” on her Instagram and wrote, “I never thought that this would be the last chance to work with Azeem Qavi Khan.” He was a larger than life person and yet so humble. He remained a professional till the end, worked hard all his life and gave us memorable performances, was soft-spoken and always there to help others”.

Actor Fahad Mustafa wrote in his Instagram post that “I was heartbroken to hear the death of legend Qavi Saab, such a big loss for our industry. I am lucky, I got an opportunity to work with him in the film Quaid-e-Azam Zindabad.” He was a master in his craft and a very true and pure soul. To Allah we belong and to Him we shall return” .
