Shah Rukh Khan’s gesture of paying respect to late Lata Mangeshkar was widely praised for offering dua (prayers with hands raised) and sliding down his mask to blow air on her body during the final rites.
Shah Rukh Khan won hearts after showing a positive gesture of paying respect to the late legendary singer, Lata Mangeshkar – The Nightingale of India, setting an example of interfaith harmony among Muslims and Hindus.
The moment was seen at the state funeral of Lata Mangeshkar who had passed away on Sunday morning after losing battle with coronavirus. Her final rites were performed at Shivaji Park, Mumbai.
Shah Rukh Khan and his manager Pooja Dadlani attended the funeral and stepped on the platform of Lata Mangeshkar’s pyre. They laid a floral wreath and then both of them offered respect to the legendary singer in accordance with their own beliefs.

On the other hand, some netizens started propagating and spreading hatred against SRK’s action and alleged that he actually spat on her body. However, the general public thrashed such allegations and kept showing respect to Shah Rukh Khan’s gesture.

Lata Mangeshkar had breathed her last at Mumbai’s Breach Candy Hospital on Sunday. She was 92. Her final rites were performed with state honours in the presence of the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, whereas, prominent personalities of showbiz and from all walks of life attended the funeral.
