The pace ace had made the statement in an interview with Dainik Jagran, saying that he was not against marriage but if someone is playing for India, the individual should have enjoyed the cricketing career for at least 10 to 12 years.
Akhtar was of the view that every person faces pressure from the children of the family after the responsibility increases.
He claimed that cricketers have a short career of 14 to 15 years in which they stay at the peak for five to six years. He added that Virat Kohli will have to struggle a lot as his peak period has passed now.
