Several showbiz stars have expressed their happiness over the decision of the three-member bench of the Supreme Court (SC) to make Pervaiz Elahi the Chief Minister of Punjab by declaring the ruling of Deputy Speaker Punjab Assembly Dost Muhammad Mazari null and void.

Senior playwright Khalilur Rehman Qamar while congratulating the nation termed the court verdict as the death of arrogance. He wrote in another tweet that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government in Punjab was the story from Mazari’s rulling to the ‘Mazar [shrine] of the deputy speaker.

Actress Maryam Nafees shared the Azadi March memories on this occasion and posted a video of the protest rally on her Instagram page in which she and her husband Usman Khalid Butt can be seen fighting tear gas. While her husband can also be seen throwing stones at the police. In the caption of the video, the actress wrote that we were standing, the fight for freedom and the journey to victory continues.
