Sooraj Panjoli acquitted after 10 years of inciting actress Jiya Khan to commit suicide

Special court of India’s Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) acquitted Sooraj Panjoli, son of actor Aditya Panjoli, after 10 years in the actress Jaya Khan suicide case.
Sooraj Panjoli was facing allegations of inciting his girlfriend Jiya Khan to commit suicide. He was arrested by Mumbai Police on 10 June 2013.
According to Indian media reports, special CBI court acquitted actor Sooraj Panjoli of all charges after 10 years.
A special court has acquitted actor Sooraj Panjoli on charges of inciting his girlfriend Jaya Khan to commit suicide citing lack of evidence.
It should be remembered that in her short film career, Jiya Khan showed essence of acting in big films like Dil Se, Ghajini, Nishbad, and Housefull. It should be noted that Jiya Khan was born on February 20, 1988, her birth name was Nafeesa Rizvi Khan. And she belonged to a well-known film family in Pakistan, she was niece of senior actress and director Sangeeta and actress Kavita and the great-granddaughter of well-known filmmaker duo Mehtab Bano and Tayyab Rizvi.
Jiya Khan’s father, Ali Rizvi, moved from Karachi to America in 70s, where after obtaining American citizenship, he married Rabia Amin, an Indian-American woman. Jiya Khan died on June 3, 2013, in the living room of his house in Juhu, Mumbai. He committed suicide by hanging from a fan.
