Tax returns of fashion designer Deepak Perwani raise many eyebrows

The income tax returns of renowned fashion designer-cum-FBR campaigner, Deepak Perwani, raised many eyebrows as he paid a surprisingly low amount of income tax.

Deepak Perwani, a famous Pakistani fashion designer and actor, is also a campaigner of the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) who joined the institution’s national campaign for filing of Income Tax Returns for Tax Year-2021-22.

The details of Deepak Perwani were posted on Twitter by a chartered accountant namely Zubair Ahmed Khan.

He wrote, “#DeepakPerwani Income Tax Returns as per @FBRSpokesperson 2013-18 are here: (2018 79,601) (2017 72,221) (2016 36,000) (2015 40,690) (2014 69,661) (2013 32,233). Integrated with #FBRPOS on 21 Oct 2022”

He added, “His name strangely apart from 2018 the rest of years showing as Mr. Mahesh Kumar from 2013-17”
