The ceremony will recognize the best exponents of the gaming industry

Today the 39th edition of the Golden Joystick Awards will be held, which will recognize and reward the best games that were released in the last year. In addition, the 50 years of gaming will be celebrated, so this year two special categories were incorporated into the voting system to celebrate that milestone so relevant for the industry.

Nolan North, for his part, stressed that they are honored to be able to present these awards and added that to the usual fun, this year the two special categories for the 50th anniversary will be added: Best game of all time and Best Hardware of all the times, to recognize the greatest exponents in the history of an industry that does not stop growing.

In addition, the most coveted category -the Best Game of the Year- will bring together the most relevant titles that were released since November 20, 2020. The nominees this year are: Deathloop, Psychonauts 2, Resident Evil Village, Ratchet and Clank , Wildermyth, Hitman 3, The Forgotten City, It Takes Two, Metroid Dread, and Mass Effect Legendary Edition.
