A large chunk of cinemas in #Karachi are not showing #TheLegendofMaulaJatt & similar comments from #Islamabad. Whatever the issue is hope it is fixed soon, public should be able to see this film now.”

Director Wajahat Rauf also shared his disappointment over some cinema owners for not screening The Legend of Maula Jatt in major cinemas of Pakistan. He wrote on Instagram, “70 per cent cinemas not playing The Legend of Maula Jatt. This is bizarre, sad and cruel. While the government and opposition are busy throwing mud at each other obviously no interest in the arts, our cinema will die a second time if not regulated immediately. Phir kehte hein softer image promote karo…”

This film has broken the record of Jawani Phir Nahi Ani 2, which had set the record for the highest collection of 2.9 crores on its first day.

It has dethroned JPNA 2, which held a record for the most prominent overseas opening for any Pakistani film with a whopping collection of Rs. 2.2 crore PKR. The Legend Of Maula Jatt movie has just thrashed this record by collecting Rs. 4.9 Crore.
