Salma is the wife of veteran singer Shehzad Roy who is running her own welfare organization.
Durbeen is a non-profit organization established with the long-term goal of improving public schools in Pakistan.
Urwa Hocane shared a video to promote teaching. Her initiative was appreciated by Shehzad who acclaimed her efforts for highlighting the important issue.
Thank you so much @VJURWA for highlighting such important issue. Apply to the B.Ed program at GECE Hussainabad govt college being managed by Durbeen. The program offers full scholarships, free laptops and a guaranteed job upon graduation. https://t.co/dK0SYWmV4P

Earlier, Urwa rolled her sleeves up to promote tourism in Pakistan when she retweeted Prime Minister Imran Khan’s tweet praising the beauty of Gilgil-Baltistan.
Yes, that’s my beautiful Pakistan ! 🍁🇵🇰
p.s. Was there only a few weeks ago , already craving to go back to the enthralling Gilgit-Baltistan & it’s warmest people ! https://t.co/3ILnCkn7iy

However, in August, the actress raised her voice to spread awareness about cleanliness and hygiene issues in the city.
A request was made by the actress that it is the responsibility of all citizens to work for environmental pollution regardless of waiting for the government to come up with a solution.
1/2 No doubt the government didn’t care about the city but did we ! time to stop complaining & do something on our own & fix atleast our own colony issues in Karachi ! We can’t even stop throwing the garbage everywhere we like. Gov doesn’t have a magic wand! #KarachiRains
