Popular Indian hairstylist Jawed Habib has faced backlash after spitting on a woman’s head during a hairstyling seminar and the video of his disgusting act went viral on social media.
After being lashed out by disgusted viewers of the video, the woman whose hair Jawed Habib spat during the workshop filed a case against the hairstylist.
It happened in Muzaffarnagar town of India’s Uttar Pradesh state earlier this week on Monday.
In a crowded auditorium, Jawed Habib can be heard saying in the video, “If there is a shortage of water, use saliva.”
He then spat on the woman’s head and received a round of applause from the audience, whereas, the woman whose hair Habib spat seemed looking confused about what he did to her.

The woman named Pooja Gupta reportedly owns a beauty recounted her experience on social media and said that she was invited to the stage for a haircut by Habib during the workshop. Gupta criticised that she will prefer to go to a street-side barber for a haircut instead of Jawed Habib.
After the serious backlash, the hairstylist tried to clarify his position in a social media video and said he just want to add some humour during the workshop. He tendered an apology if his action hurt the people.
Following the incident, the National Commission for Women asked the UP police to probe the veracity of the video and take appropriate action.
